See place where Nigerians mine gold illegally (photos)


Mr Kayode Fayemi, the Nigerian minister of solid minerals development recently went on a visit to various mining sites in Nigeria.
On March 14, 2017, one of the first places he visited was the site of marble stones mining in Kaduna.
He said: "We are determined to put in place necessary funding to support scaling up of capacity for marbles and dimension stones."
He also visited sites of illegal gold mining operations in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna state, below are pictures from the sites.

After he left the illegal gold mining sites, he further proceeded to a mining site at old Birning Gwari road for a National Tower.

Meanwhile, Dr Fayemi, the minister of solid materials, was a speaker at the 2016 New Telegraph Economic Summit
At the summit held in Lagos the ex-governor spoke on how mining can help Nigerian get back to economic stability.
He said that Nigeria's resources are under-exploited, and the potential of the illegal mining industry could tapped for the benefit of all. He revealed that over 6 million Nigerians are involved in illegal mining in Nigeria.
